This was truly an extraordinary passage. From beginning to end, "Passage To The Forest Of Mysterious & Birds" is a celebration of Karfagen's legacy and a sweet spoonful of nostalgia for it's fans. The first half embodying both aspects best, reviving familiar themes and ideas as phoenixes to fly along the new flock. The second being a more than worthy expansion and observation of the classic "Birds Of Passage", re-freshed, re-mused, re-fused. My endless respect to Antony's passion for his work.

Ukrainian musician/composer/producer Antony Kalugin is amazingly prolific. Amongs all his other projects this was already the 13th Karfagen album (released in early 2022). Of course, a new one is ready to see the light of day in early 2023 ;-) This album is (as all his stuff) clearly 70s oriented, "golden-era prog", extremely rich in melodies and arrangement ideas. Some jazzy, folky, classical influences included and very well sounding, too :-) Almost disappeared in the deep wishlist 8-o

I had originally got it on another service, but now I have it in better quality & for that I'm happy. I recently made a review/discussion of the album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xivo26KyiwE&t=1s I have a very eclectic channel, covering everything from John Denver to Hath. This is one of my favorites from any of Antony's projects. Great music and production. May peace & prosperity be upon the Kalugin family & all those they hold dear & may they be free from tyranny quickly.
